Mary Rachel Morriss was a native of Memphis, Tennessee where she was a teacher and painter. She had 27 one-man shows including the Parthenon at Nashville, TN and won over 30 prizes from many juried shows including Mid-America, Central South, Hunter Annual, Delta Annual and Memphis Brooks Museum.
